The Natural Resources Commission (NRC) meets for the first time in 2025 tomorrow at Lansing Community College Downtown Campus. The meeting starts at 8:30 am.

There are no commission orders for information or action. The director has four director’s orders up for information.

Land Use Order of the Director Amendment No. 1 of 2025 is the annual Forest Road Inventory update.

Land Use Order of the Director Amendment 2 of 2025 adds the Houghton Douglass Falls property to the list of properties requiring a recreation passport for entry and prohibits the use of aerial drones.

Land Use Order of the Director Amendment 3 of 2025 clarifies where snowmobile use is permitted across a number of state parks and recreation areas.

Land Use Order of the Director Amendment 4 of 2025 addresses bicycle use on a number of equestrian trails across the state.

There are two land transactions on the agenda. MUCC reviews all land transactions exceeding 80 acres, of which there is one.

Land Transaction Case #20240089 is the sale of 350 acres of state-owned land for the Saab munitions factory.

The next NRC meeting is Thursday, February 13.

On Saturday, July 12, 2025, MUCC hosted another successful Manistee River Cleanup at High Bridge Boat Launch in partnership with Steelhead Manifesto, USDA Forest Service, and the Michigan DNR. This annual event has taken place for the last 11 years, with MUCC having been involved from the very beginning. This is also one of our highest attended events with around 60 volunteers each year committed to cleaning up the river for all to enjoy.
