August 2025 CPB Wrap-Up

Conservationists from around the state met on Saturday to discuss a trio of policy resolutions as part of MUCC's grassroots policy process.

All three resolutions, as well as the meeting working document and draft minutes can be found at the CPB Website HERE.

All the resolutions were unanimously approved to be sent to MUCC's convention, and will appear before the body in February.

Resolution #A would have MUCC support nighttime hunting of bobcats using calling methods.

Resolution #B would have MUCC support the use of cable restraints or live trapping as a method of take for black bears.

Resolution #C would have MUCC support the reinstatement and protection of federal funding for woodcock banding programs.

Special thanks to MTPCA for hosting, the meeting took place at their own convention and they were running double duty to show us a good time. They were great hosts! Learn more about MTPCA at mtpca.com.

The next meeting is Saturday, December 6 via Zoom. Follow the CPB website for more information.
