What is the WISE Project?

The WISE Project is a K-12 environmental education curriculum focusing on solid waste and pollution prevention.

The WISE Project's goal is to affect behavioral change in students towards pollution prevention and resource recovery.

The WISE Project:

  • Incorporates hands-on environmental education into the classroom
  • Teaches responsible solid waste management and pollution prevention
  • Meets core curriculum standards

How can I use the WISE Curriculum?

Wise Squares is great for all ages.
The WISE Curriculum contains nearly 300 pages full of activities plus a comprehensive introduction and resource section for educators. The WISE Curriculum is divided into four grade groupings for ease of us: K-3, 4-6, 7-9 and 10-12. Each grade grouping contains:

  • Five to seven lesson plans
  • Follow-up activities
  • Extended learning activities
  • Overheads
  • Worksheets
  • Glossaries

The WISE Curriculum is complemented by three student readers, available for $.32 each or $10.00/classroom set.

Why teach WISE?

The WISE Project addresses environmental concerns such as use of natural resources, air and water quality, and social/economic issues of environmental pollution.

The WISE Project is easy to use! Educators can attend a 2-4 hour training and receive the curriculum.
