Wetland Wonders Challenge starts this weekSeptember 12th, 2012
A new program sponsored by the Michigan Department of Natural Resources targets waterfowl hunters for an opportunity for hunters to win big prizes. The contest focuses on seven of the state’s managed waterfowl hunt areas including Allegan State Game Area’s Fennville Farm Unit, Fish Point, Harsens Island, Muskegon County Wastewater Facility, Nayanquing Point, Pointe Mouillee and Shiawassee River.
Drawings will be held at each MWHA starting on September 15 with the opening of the youth waterfowl hunts and concluding on January 22. Hunters can register for the drawings when they arrive at any of the seven MWHAs, where they will receive an exclusive duck band and their Wetland Wonders Challenge punch card.
Throughout the season, hunters can get their card punched at each of the MWHAs. If hunters visit at least four of the areas, they will be entered to win one of several ultimate prize packages. Consolation prizes will be available for those visiting at least one area. Winners will be announced February 15. Rules and additional information can be found here.
