Volunteer Opportunity: Michigan Clean Water Corps

Have you ever wondered how you can get more involved in protecting water quality, combating aquatic invasive species, and improving fisheries habitat? The Michigan Clean Water Corps (MiCorps) may be a program for you! MiCorps mission is to:
  • network and expand volunteer water quality monitoring organizations statewide for the purpose of collecting, sharing, and using reliable data;
  • educate and inform the public about water quality issues; and
  • foster water resources stewardship to facilitate the preservation and protection of Michigan's water resources.
The Michigan Clean Water Corps will be holding their 7th Annual MiCorps Conference and Training on Monday-Tuesday, October 24-25, 2011 at the Ralph A. MacMullan Conference Center on Higgins Lake. Conference topics will include native and invasive species monitoring; leading managing, and inspiring volunteerism; and much more. The conference is intended for volunteer monitoring program leaders, volunteers, water resource professionals, and others interested in protecting Michigan's rivers, lakes, and streams.
The deadline to register is this Friday, October 14. See the conference website for more details and to register:
