Michigan Wildlife Cooperatives and Michigan Pheasant Restoration Initiative support wildlife cooperative development with free workshops
ADRIAN, CASS CITY, ITHACA – Michigan Wildlife Cooperatives and the Michigan Pheasant Restoration Initiative are hosting a workshop for individuals who are interested in starting a wildlife cooperative or strengthening an active one.
“This is a special series of events coming to the key Michigan Pheasant Restoration Initiative areas to promote cooperative development,” said Anna Mitterling, Wildlife Cooperative Coordinator with Michigan United Conservation Clubs. “Short presentations will be given on habitat grants, cooperative development, and cooperative leaders will share success stories of their wildlife cooperatives.”
Michigan Wildlife Cooperatives is jointly funded by Michigan United Conservation Clubs, Michigan Department of Natural Resources, Pheasants Forever and Quality Deer Management Association. Michigan Wildlife Cooperatives is working with the Michigan Pheasant Restoration Initiative to create and enhance wildlife cooperatives in Michigan.
“We hope to create an open environment to promote and engage wildlife cooperative leaders, fellow hunters and landowners, and habitat biologists,” said Monique Ferris, biologist at Gratiot Conservation District. “This is a perfect opportunity for individuals to discover options available to create or enhance wildlife habitat and how participating in a cooperative can help achieve these goals.”
