Harsen’s Island Hunter Access Volunteer WorkdayJuly 18th, 2013
On August 17, join MUCC and the Harsen’s Island Waterfowl Hunters Association in clearing hunter access channels at the Harsen’s Island Unit of the St. Clair Flats State Wildlife Area of overgrown cattails and weeds that choke up boat motors and wildlife habitat.
Volunteers will meet at 9am and are encouraged to bring line trimmers and proper safety equipment including steel-toed boots, long pants, gloves and eye and ear protection.
Lunch, water and snacks will be provided and each volunteer will receive a t-shirt and a one-year subscription to the online edition of Michigan OutofDoors Magazine as a thank-you for your hard work.
This project is also part of the Michigan Waterfowl Legacy’s Wetland Wonders II Challenge, which means that volunteers will be entered in a drawing for a terrific outdoors-themed prize package. Sign up below!
