Take Action!It is easy and important to get to know your legislators and inform them about issues facing Michigan’s out-of-doors. Check this page often as it will be updated when there is an issue which requires your immediate attention. We will provide draft letters, fact sheets and draft wording so you can directly contact your legislator. In addition, you can find out who represents you in the Michigan House of Representatives, (link) Michigan Senate, (link) and the Michigan Congressional delegation. At these links, you will be able to identify your legislator and their address, phone number, toll-free number (if available), email address and fax number. Personal letters are most effective but faxes, phone calls and email are also very powerful. Another very important means of making a difference, is to schedule an appointment to meet with your legislators, either in Lansing or in their district. MUCC staff will be happy to help set up such appointments and go with you to the meeting. Usually it takes very few contacts from a legislator’s constituents to make a difference!
