On Sunday, July 31st, at 9AM we will be meeting at the Rose Lake State Game Area for a rabbitat project. This wildlife habitat improvement project will involve cutting small black locust trees from the edges of an opening and building large brush piles. These brush piles will provide essential cover and browse for the area's cottontail rabbits, turkey, woodcock, deer, and other game species.
Two extra chainsaws are available to volunteers with adequate experience as well as full sets of sawyer PPE. Anyone operating a chainsaw will be required to wear kevlar chaps, a sawyer helmet with eye protection, gloves, and sturdy boots. There will also be handsaws and loppers available to trim branches from tree trunks. Tools, safety equipment, a free T-shirt, bottled water, and lunch will be provided for all volunteers by MUCC.
Please RSVP below to volunteer for rabbitat!
