On Tuesday, September 27th at 9am, we will be meeting at the Muskegon SGA for an aspen regeneration project. This project will be collaborated with students from Ravenna Schools science classes. We will be improving aspen regeneration in a recent timber sale by breaking the tops of small aspen seedlings during their first growing season to promote lateral growth of branches. Most of the work will be done by hand, but there are a few maples throughout the stand that will be cut down with chainsaws. The majority of the work will be along the wide skid-trail left open.
This wildlife improvement project will benefit the area's turkey, woodcock, grouse, deer, and small game. All tools, safety gear, food/water, and a free T-shirt will be provided for volunteers. Please RSVP below to volunteer for aspen regeneration!
