MUCC Executive Director Erin McDonough Re-Appointed to Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund Board

October 28th, 2013

LANSING— Governor Rick Snyder re-appointed Erin McDonough to the Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund Board for a full four-year term last week after originally appointing her in August to serve out the remainder of Bob Garner’s term, which ended on October 1.

“The Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund was created by thought leaders who decided that royalties from our nonrenewable natural resources should be invested in habitat, public lands and outdoor recreation in order to benefit the citizens of Michigan in perpetuity,” said McDonough, who is also the Executive Director of Michigan United Conservation Clubs. “It’s an honor to serve on this board and to succeed someone as dedicated as Bob Garner.  Bob was there at the creation of the Trust Fund and has always been a steadfast and passionate advocate for Michigan’s great outdoors.”

McDonough is currently Executive Director of the Michigan United Conservation Clubs (MUCC), serving in that capacity since 2009.  She is a member of the Michigan Oil and Gas Advisory Council, Michigan Snowmobile and Trails Advisory Council and is a Trustee of the Great Lakes Fishery Trust.  McDonough also served as Co-Chair of Governor Snyder’s Blue Ribbon Panel on State Parks and Outdoor Recreation. McDonough earned her MS in Resource, Policy and Behavior from the University of Michigan and a BS in Hydrogeology from Central Michigan University.

“The Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund is a world class resource for the citizens of the state of Michigan.  I am grateful for the opportunity to be part of such a legacy and hope I can use my experience to help strategically invest in our beautiful state,” said McDonough.

Founded in 1937, Michigan United Conservation Clubs is the largest state-specific conservation organization in the country with a mission to unite citizens to conserve, protect and enhance Michigan’s natural resources and outdoor heritage.
