Epizootic Hemorrhagic Disease (EHD) has continued to make a presence in mid-Michigan this year. The Department of Natural resources received lab confirmation reporting EHD-related deaths in an additional five counties.
This confirmation brings the total number of counties affected to 22. The five recent confirmations were reported in Gratiot, Lenawee, Mecosta, Saginaw and Washtenaw counties.
The DNR has an updated map of affected areas and a list of total white-tailed deer reported dead as possible cases of EHD. Over the past two months, 2,785 deer have been affected by EHD.
