Candidates Reveal Positions on Recreational Fishing and Fisheries ManagementOctober 29th, 2012
With just over a week before the presidential election, we thought we might share some pertinent information before you choose your candidate.
The American Sportfishing Association posed questions to both candidates through their angler advocacy campaign, providing insight as to how the candidates would manage the nation’s fisheries and access to recreational fishing.
The candidates were asked 8 questions each. Issues ranged from invasive species and ocean closures to the user-pay model of fish and wildlife management and the economic importance of America’s fishing industry.
Both candidates provided answers to all eight questions, allowing anglers to get a sense of what direction fisheries management might be headed in the next four years. The question and answer documentation can be found on the ASA’s advocacy and campaign site, KeepAmericaFishing.
