While we are at prosecution of these individuals, why can’t the EPA in on this one. Could we not treat this fish (carp) much the same as a oil spill?!?!

After all, we lose the Great Lakes to this fish all manner of sport fishing for Michigan and surrounding states are done. The DNR will hundreds of millions of revenue from license fees.

For this sort of blatant ecological recklessness, both buyer and seller should be charged and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. And while we’re at it, let’s re-write the laws concerning exotic species to allow for 20 sentences and harsh fines for those, like these bozos, who knowingly, willingly threaten the environment of our state with another potential zebra mussel or emerald ash borer-type disaster.

This episode is a near repeat of what happened years ago when these fish were first imported & bred in fish-farm ponds in the south—-supposedly there were all these potential benefits they could serve, yeah, right. These ponds were soooo far from any waterways they could never pose a problem, yeah, right. NO WAY they could ever escape, yeah, right!
Now for politics and a few more shekels in the pockets of the wealthy NO ONE can close that Chicago waterway??? This whole thing is sickening….
