I love plinking with my AR and AK, and it’s my right and or choice to have them, not the Governments right to make that decision for me! As a police officer I have not had to use my body armor, but it’s sure nice to know it’s there just in case!

As a CHL instructor from Texas in our state’s first instructor class–and a non-hunter, I would like to weigh in on this discussion. The right to carry laws came about when it became clear in Florida that the police couldn’t protect it’s citizens from the violence. Violent crime went down 25% the first year, and the other states started to fall in line. Countries that ban guns are paying the price. Gun Control is not about guns–it’s about control. Big government likes to control. Free people like to not be controlled. I probably don’t need my AR-15, or a 17 round mag, but I want that to be my choice, and not some liberal Democrat’s choice. The operative word in this discussion is FREEDOM.

Terry, you just don’t get it do you?? The second amendment is not about hunting it’s about one’s self protection from ALL enemy’s both foreign and demestic. And yes, down south the types of firearms you seem to resent are used alot for keeping the wild Hog populations under control. BUT it’s not about hunting!!!!! If you look into PETA’s, the national human society, and the Brady organizations agenda you would see that they all agree on those issues!! And who the Hell are you to tell me I should not be allowed to own my AK’s and AR15′s for any reason???? I’ve been a member of MUCC and the NRA for 36 years and they do a wonderful job working together for our hunting and fishing freedoms as well as our second amendment rights, and I hope that always remains the case!!
I’m not going to wish you good luck, that would hinder Americas freedoms.

I have been a member of MUCC for 20 years now and maintain my membership. Firearms and fishing linked?? I use a pole, line and hook. Hunting and self-protection, from a wild buck?
It is NOT obvious as you state, that the ENEMY?? is the same. I do not own an AK-47 to hunt deer or pigs with, do you? How many rounds must you have in your weapon? If you needed more than two, I was taught, than you were a poor shot and needed to get out of the woods and onto the range for some practice. So please name the anti-gun and the anti-hunting groups and see if they really are one and the same.
I am not against guns, nor against hunting or fishing (with a pole). I am against a pistol with a 30 round clip. I am against AR type assault weapons NOT designed for hunting.
I am probably from a different era where real men didn’t need a 50 shot clip to kill a deer. Good luck to yours.

Why so confusing Terry???? Firearms, Hunting, Fishing, and self protection have always gone hand in hand. It’s only obvious that they all harbor the same enemy!! If you can’t have a firearm, you certainly cannot hunt. Any organization that supports freedom in any way is just fine with me. You should probably notice that the anti-hunting and anti-gun organizations work hand in hand in most instances, so why not the right side of the issue?? I want MUCC and the NRA to make sure that I always have my God given right to carry my pistol for protection while I’m fishing for my favorite game fish. Why would you want to point this out as a issue anyway Terry?? Sometimes we are are own worst enemy!

I was for years a member of the MUCC and am confused as to when it became an arm of the NRA? I now reside in FL. and have a CPL (CCW), so I am not anti carrying, but feel that this is misplaced.
